We’re working with a pioneering digital gaming studio that creates world-class mobile slot games for a global audience. Their creative hub is a collaborative and high-energy space driven by innovation, visual storytelling, and quality execution. They're now looking for a Senior Frontend HTML5 Game Developer to help bring their game ideas to life with cutting-edge code and exceptional performance across platforms.
 
 
The Role
 
This is a senior-level position suited to a highly experienced frontend developer based near Oxford, who thrives in building responsive, high-performance games using HTML5 and JavaScript frameworks. You'll be implementing clean, maintainable code within a robust framework, optimising user experience across desktop and mobile devices.
 
Working alongside the creative and development teams, you’ll play a key role in delivering engaging, visually rich slot games. You’ll also contribute to technical discussions, lead on best practices, and support more junior developers as a mentor.
 
Previous experience in the casino or games industry is a bonus, but not essential.
 
What We’re Looking For
 
Mandatory Skills:
 
5+ years’ experience working with HTML5 and TypeScript in both mobile and desktop environments
Strong knowledge of PixiJS, Phaser or similar JS gaming/animation libraries
Solid animation expertise using WebGL or Canvas 2D APIs
Experience with version control tools such as Git or SVN
 
Nice-to-Have Skills:
 
Understanding of CSS, SASS/SCSS and CSS frameworks (e.g. Tailwind, Bootstrap)
Experience with JavaScript build tools like Gulp, Vite or Rollup
Familiarity with responsive design and mobile-first development
Previous exposure to logging/analysis tools like Elasticsearch, Sentry or Rollbar
Background in maths, physics, statistics or 3D development
Strong architectural understanding of cross-platform constraints and capabilities
Great communicator, confident working in distributed, cross-functional teams
