Design Engineer

Job Purpose

 

Your role as a design engineer will be to collaborate on the design, development and transfer of their technologies. You will be working within a multidiscipline technical team to provide product / industrial design skills and carry out testing to provide performance evidence and information to enable deployment through their partnerships. You will be interacting with multi-discipline teams, common external bodies and organisations to ensure rapid progression of concepts and projects to quickly scale their impact on the world.

 

Design Engineer

Core responsibilities;

 

  • Develop technologies from initial concepts to full products through iterative design processes, utilising CAD, physical construction and testing of prototypes.

 

  • Work together with the wider technical, development and commercialisation team across business units to ensure on-contract delivery of their technology, licensing agreements.

 

  • Collaborate with their licencing partners in various geographies and industries to support development, technology transfer, product launch and product support processes.

 

  • Record interpret and present results and information to colleagues at all levels internal and external.

 

  • Adhere to and uphold the safety and environmental principles they believe in, working with the team to constantly improve their environment.

Design Engineer

Required Skills:

 

 

  • Relevant experience and foundation of knowledge, evidenced by qualifications, in engineering / product development.

 

  • Experience and proficiency in producing 3D CAD models in SolidWorks.

 

  • Working knowledge of electro / mechanical products utilising fluids, pumps and motors (water treatment / filtration would be beneficial but not crucial).

 

  • Capability to distil and communicate complex technical information to varying audiences in report and presentation format.

 

  • Experience in working at a concept / prototype level as well as moving designs through to resolved engineered products.

 

  • Interpersonal skills and commercial awareness to maintain excellent working relationships at all levels.

 

  • Flexible, general approach and ability to learn that allows constructive collaboration with global colleagues and partners.
