Our Client is global specialist in technology with a focus on future audio visual, video conferencing and cloud based solutions. They offer solutions which consider the many facets that businesses need when making the decision to invest in new technology and are looking for an IT systems engineer to join their growing team.
IT Systems Engineer
Your role will be to assist the Systems Architect with change management, device management, 1st and 2nd line support for internal staff, device set up and configuration, asset management and other IT specific tasks across all of their sites.
1st and 2nd line support
o Working with management and other departments to implement a successful IT plan
o Assisting in the implementation of the IT plan and training the individuals who will need to use it
o Establish various guidelines for evaluating the IT systems and determining where changes should be made.
o Assist in budgeting for IT expenses, including the purchase of new equipment and software when necessary.
o Diagnose issues when computers or other technologies are not working as they should.
o Implement a plan for repair or replacement of computers and other forms of technology.
o Instruct other IT professionals and assigns projects as needed.
o Form strong bonds with equipment manufacturers and service providers so that issues can be resolved more quickly.
o Prepare regular reports for management officials; attend meetings to present these findings.
o Manage internal IT Assets and ensures they are configured correctly.
o Form good relationships with their strategic IT partners
o Ensure all company infrastructure is backed up regularly to ensure no loss of data
o Occasionally be available during weekends / evenings to make Global changes to IT infrastructure which cannot be done in hours
o Assist with projects and be willing to travel on occasion if required
Required Skills (some of the following):
o Experience with Microsoft Azure and Active Directory (Crucial)
o Networking & VPN knowledge, VLANS etc
o Experience or knowledge with Cisco Meraki Products / Portal
o Experience or knowledge with Mimecast
o Experience in Microsoft Sharepoint, previous successful migrations to Sharepoint is a plus.
o Understanding of DNS (A Records, MX, SRV etc)
o Knowledge of H323 & SIP (Not essential but must be prepared to learn)
o Experience in Video Conferencing (Not essential but must be prepared to learn)
o at least 2 years experience in a similar position.
o Microsoft Azure/Office and Cisco networking certifications would be advantageous
