Description:
This role is based in the e-marketing department of a major international retail company that is responsible for the development, marketing and maintenance of their UK (own brand and 3rd party) websites. A vacancy has become available to join the team as a web designer, reporting to the website operations manager.
Responsibilities
• To interpret marketing briefs to produce creative design solutions for their range of websites.
• The creation of concepts to meet requirements of the brief.
• To produce the above creative solutions in XHTML and CSS.
• To optimise graphics and images for the website.
• To assist in the creation and production of promotional material for their sites, which may be on CD, online or paper based.
Requirements:
• Degree or equivalent in Art and Design or Multimedia studies.
• Sound proven experience in building websites.
• Excellent knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Flash, Freehand / Illustrator (all mainstream web design software).
• Expert in XHTML, CSS and JavaScript is essential, with any other relevant languages advantageous.
• Good written, verbal communication and presentation skills.
